i like the bassline of isolate but the drumsounds are straight outta kraken or something.....somehow not fully ripe yet.

the vinylrecorder cuts with a diamond. i can cut acetate or reference lites as well, if you insist on haveing true dubplates!


so far none of my clients wants acetate, due to prices....hehehe

The everlasting wanna be dubplates dont sound nearly as good as ol' fashion Dubplates. Those newer units dont have feedback on the cutterhead so the hi frequency sounds like doo doo. they might not last as long but def... sound better. plus how can you compare an add on piece of metal to a 1200 ...

I have listened to the vinyl dubplates and Scrutinized the machines that cut them and to be honest they are not there yet in terms of the ability to cut a consitantley good sound.At Transition we are continually searching for ways to raise the bar in terms of what can be cut and what tools we use ...

and generally speaking, vinyl gives a much warmer sound due to its dynamic range as apposed to cd. but i doubt this is the reason most people chose not to hand out cd-r's.



i think this is a myth, coz not so many clubs have extensive amplification headroom to actually hear that much of a ...

actually i wanna raise this question.. why do djs cut acetate dubplates if vinyl ones last a squillion years longer?
isit cheaper?

acetate blanks are way more expensive!!!! actually in the range of 1 to 10 and i can cut you 12/10/7 and wait for it 5 inches of black vinyl gold ...

dubplates&mastering in berlin have to be mentioned

i dont think acetate can be cut louder than vinyl........i havent compared tho (due to incredible high acetate prices;-) there is a physical level limit on both medias..+12dbs. i just depends on how the music is mixed ...

have cut around 2000 plates since then :o on a professionally...

when all is well adjusted it sounds very nice!!!!


mind you i'm a mastering engineer....you can get very good results when you know how to master music......hit me up for more info if you like ...
