clownstep is mostly pure jump up 2 step breaks with a simple 4/4 or 8/4 wobble bassline. nothing really melodic. yes, it s true with the fine line between minimal and boring. I personal dont like to do big arangements. I try to do the best of 3-4 parts in a tune with minimalistic work (yes I am lazy 2) I think the most good Tunes are very simple. Drums (kick, sd, hihat, perc) Bass, maybe a hooking melody, FX, ...
