Re: Gear lust

Ok, here's a quick run thru of what I did. The audio is a short snippet of a surf-ish track I am recording for a band. Drums, ukelele, and guitar. Made it mono and then ran it thru each of the three colors, in order of subtlest to most extreme. I did three different saturation amounts per color. At...

Re: Gear lust

Hey paradigmx, are you just visiting Asheville or did you move there? I've a few good friends (who also happen to be great musicians) living there. PM if want contacts. I've been getting back into DIY stuff lately, started with a pair of these guys: http://store.diyrecordingequipment.com/colour-500...

Re: “I can’t even afford bed linen, let alone a 909″

Now, not to be a dick but one of the main problems here is the dude's music is kind of undermining everything he says The drums do sound like generic laptop programmed sample packs. Which is what the "everyone can download the same old drum machine sounds and instantly have 909 sounds in their...

Well, sorry, thats all IMHO obviously. The ambika ones are almost certainly thicker, as its so much bigger, maybe its a lot nicer.

Just had to spend my life savings on plane tickets the the US  what i could have spent that one. Sister in laws wedding.

Re: Gear lust

Theyre shit those cases tho, the shruthi uses the same, cracks easily, and has sharp edges. Not exactly fatal, but not great for twiddling. that said, the ambika is a wonderful synth. Id just get a better case made. Mates (supposed) to be coming up this weekend, with tr808, tb303 and andromeda ! :h:

Rea diabo: Gear lust

I would love a diabolical devices 727, they are pretty static as is, but pretty easy to mod. but even a standard one would be nice.

Hes now doing a hybrid with both 707 and 727 roms

Machinedrum, monomachine, octatrack, analog 4, analog RYTM, ms20(vintage), modular. The elektrons drive everything, ableton used for recording/editing only pretty much. 48 hardware tracks in all :) Dutty, I would love all of them, but the machinedrum is calling me at the moment, got plenty of phat ...

Re: Gear lust

Hmm, well the roland is going for a huge sum, much more than any others recently, so thats gone. The cathedral sound very nice.

Cant believe im so out the loop on guitar pedals, they were always generally shit when i last used hardware. amazing now, even the mooer stuff sounds great for pennies...
