Tunes like 'left leg out' are techno already. people always re-discover the same things... ps I agree Techno was born out of a minimal aesthetic. Not the Genre minimal, but the actual meaning of the word. I predict a lot more dubstep with more 'filled-in', vaguely 4-4 beats. But keeping the ds vibe ...

7/8 or 5/4 may be one thing, but I don't believe people could be that confused by 3/4 or 6/8. I'm sure you have all heard waltz tunes and not been confused. In fact they were made for dancing! I have seen people dance to psy-trance that was obviously in 6/8... i think most dancers could handle that ...

i think Microtonic can find a useful place in your dubstep production...

analog-style vst with a digital edge.... the nice thing is that it can mutate from hits into sound effects and back..

It has its own flavour, you wouldnt want to use it for everything.

if i normalize while rendering (out of ableton live in my case) doesn't it just boost the master volume as much as it can with clipping?

i can't think of how there could be anything wrong with this--- anyone?

contra lifeforce, esp that fire level i think it was intro to karate champ second the zelda of course ikari warriors (maybe more in arcade?) gauntlet was fairly dope space harrier for sega and space harrier ii for genesis and many more.. vague memory that 'predator' on nes had cool music... um, gyru...

yeah the strongest point is overall sound quality... drums could be tuned more to have a little more grimey flavour perhaps but probably u were doing it to see if you could nail the generic aspects of the style... and thats why it sounds generic. the rhythms are in the right ballpark for sure. absol...
