yup needs a system, its v minimal and the sub just sounds weak if ya cabs can't go low enough!

FF Drop are a bit "lite" for me but those vox and horns can't be messed with on this one. TBH i think you would have to work hard to rmx it badly...

listen, copy, then innovate! i think its been said many times b4, a simple halfstep would look like this (x=kick, 0=snare) x---.----.0---.---- plus your hihats 140bpms yadda yadda use a heavily reverbed clap instead of snare for that truly "vintage" dubstep aroma but seriously if you liste...

Turbulence and Anthony B look the "bargains" at $500.

Does anyone know if you get the clean vocal files when you pay for a voicing? Be good to use on other riddims, remixes etc.

nah not every fat sound will have that done to it but it has the advantage of keeping the low sub mono and unaffected while you can fuck around with the mid/highs all you want. a lot of producers are quite lazy and the sounds you are hearing were probably made quite simply. 1 tip with bass is to use...

i think he means take it down a little bit but don't completely cut <80hz what kind of sound does your dad play? if the drivers look like they are doing a lot of work but theres not much bass you might have to roll off the bottom end, i.e. the cone is going mental distances back and forth but u aint...

melody sounds a bit like Kunta Kinte (legendary dub) with a coupla notes at the end changed! have u heard it? (or dnb version) could be a coincidence its a pretty simple flute line anyway anyway...good points- like the delayed chords a lot, also i love the kunta kinte line whether you borrowed it or...

eh up def prefer murdersound, and totally agree with everyone that the best bit is when the reggae chords come in at about the 3min mark- re-fix! zomby doesn't grab me so much, the bass seems a bit simple anda few cents outta tune with the rest too had a listen to some of the others too, love the sn...

Well i guess top quality mastering engineers are good whatever you throw at them, but i would def go with a mastering house that has a proven track record with bass heavy dance music built to be played on sound system. Unless you advise otherwise i think traditional engineers would strip out some su...

i reckon a handful to movers and shakers on the scene is good promotion, but letting tons of people download 320 mp3s wouldn't please a prospective label. Depends what you mean by release anyway, Virgin or EMI won't be signing us any time soon and ur average indie dubstep label won't be too bothered...

JTS specialise in roots reggae and UK steppers so they would probably be able to give you that heavy bass sound that we all know and love.

They run a nice soundsystem called Jah Tubby's. A lot of UK sound systems get their hardware like amps, pre-amps, sirens etc from them.

it's the biggest cliche ever but it doesn't matter which box you use, it's what you make come out of it. An MPC is just a sampler, it plays what you put in. Likewise the Korg is a synth which can produce the same waveforms as any software synth, its what you do with it after this that determines how...

mostly use reason standalone, some softsynths to make sounds and that. if it feels too easy i rewire reason into SX but to be honest my PC is too slow and my ideas and motivation get sapped away.....

wow dubstep from Romania. yep think his is heavy, the chopped up breaks are nice and staccato, liberal use of delay etc maybe vary the delay settings on some of the sounds, they all sound like they are put thru the same unit on 3-steps maybe. do you use reason? could dub-out some of the samples a bi...
