Online mixing/production

I did a search and nothing came up, so... how would people feel if you were to send the individual tracks of your tunes and have them mixed for you? I know that everyone wants to learn how to do it for themselves but I thought that it might be helpful to get people out there to begin with. I was thi...

yeah and also use a lot reverb and delay for the space feel.

you can just use a piano and use the cutoff to make it sound deep.

WHY normalise it though? Why do you need to? i went to a studio once to get a tune mixed down without normalising and the engineer was saying we shouldn't have the tracks so quiet as when going out of the computer it adds noise. does it actually cause problems when mastering? i would think they nee...

headroom ---> better-sounding, albiet quieter mixes---> more space for mastering engineer to do his/her magic---->better sounding record. seriously. Truer words never spoken. I mean, yeah- I use limiters & such... but only when trying out a new tune live. As soon as a label picks it up, I strip...

I feel a bit of a rant/preach/lecture coming on  The above post I made is pr...

sounds simple but if you just change the velocity of the note that's louder so that its the same as the other it will work and is a lot simpler than fucking about with eq and compression. if it still doesn't work THEN try compression. i've listened to the eskmo track and the none of the notes stick ...

What host you using ? In most (at least acid and cubase) you can hide ones you dont want. Go to plugin management or or whatever (sorry at work no access to cubase) i'm using logic, i did delete them and then when i opened the analogic delay it reappeared. its not that big a deal i spose i just wan...

i can't believe anyone even has bare faced cheek to question Reni's drumming !!! have you seen him play elephant stone live? that is some effing unfathomable talent. the man is all over the kit on that 16beat, giving some severe attention to the parts of the kit other drummers can't reach... that's...

ah right ok, so if i didn't use the delays it wouldn't open. it just was annoying cos it keeps creating folders and making the list massive when you are looking for stuff, i like to keep it short and sweet not long and wrong. :|

again, spot on. there just seems to be an awful ot of people showing a great ammount of desperation to create the exact same generic wobble sound at the moment and give it one up the bum as hard and often as possibe

DRUMMERS (a question)

people say that reni from the stone roses was an amazing drummer, technically advanced and whatever. i've watched a video of them and although i think the beats are cool and funky i just can't really see what makes him so much better that another drummer. is it the little nuances that he adds? like ...

best era for mixdowns

so many different possibilities but let's have a talk... you've got 60s which were not that great but were sort of pioneering the idea 70s...70s drum sound, 60s artists disappearing up their arses and having loads of money to experiment with different drugs and more importantly sounds. as i said bef...
