Doesn't work for me still (v1.0.2) - when editing controls in a 3rd party VST/VSTi, if I press space bar the audio continues.SunkLo wrote:Just tested the most recent update, space works fine while focused on an audio effect and polysynth.

Re: Gear lust
MIDI Sprout haha, weird. On the subject of kickstarter, I just ordered a QuNeo (along with a xone k2), hopefully it'll have more practical use than a polyphonic pot plant.

Re: Bitwig Studio New DAW
You don't need to reinstall all your plugins. User error.
But yeah it does have a few minor flaws e.g. track grouping not implemented, and space bar doesn't stop audio unless focus is on the program window. Otherwise, workflow is great and intuitive, v2.0 will be interesting.

Some other little bits: If you're selling advance tickets, put 'line-up subject to change' in small print on the flyer. For on the door tickets, make it cheaper before 11. If you're in a university town, get the student calendar well in advance to clash manage dates. Allow your flyerers to offer sli...

Re: DJ Pay and Set Times
Advice no. 1 - it's all about promo. Can't stress this enough. One in every hundred you give a flyer to might attend, and a party is not a party without people. Booking local DJs is automatic promo. Make a budget in Excel, like below. --- Headliner 400 Headliner travel accom 200 Support 150 Support ...

Re: Low Cost Audio Interface For A Mobile DJ Setup?
Happy with my NI Traktor Audio 2, doesn't meet point 4 of your criteria though. Traktor Z1 is another option that offers extra versatility, again no guitar/mic input. M-Audio M-Track Plus is another option but I know nothing about it.

Re: The Monitor Thread™
There are non-linearities present, especially when you consider the amp as part of the speaker. Most of those effects will affect frequency response though. Time domain response translates directly to frequency response, and tons of distortion would surely slaughter the speaker's flatness. No monit...

Re: The Monitor Thread™
bouncingfish - you should listen to the F5s. Not that I've heard them (I have the old Adam A7s), but knowing the science they will have a better midrange (due to the smaller cone) than the F7s at the expense of losing some low end 'meat' and lower maximum SPL. The amps are smaller, so might actually...

Not sure if the production forum is the right place, but anyone using these? Traktor X1 (mk2) / Traktor Z1 / Traktor F1 http://images.getinthemix.com/30/1373552957_19.jpg Seems amazing for Traktor DJing, sooo many possibilities for live remixing from very compact and modular kit. Z2 looks great too ...

Re: Gear lust
Your soul is worth less than a Behringer? Sure, seems reasonable. Why dose Behringer have such a bad rep? Shoddy build quality, mainly. Depends really. For PA - Behringer Europower amps deliver for the price, as do the the Ultradrive crossovers. For monitoring, the Truths are great for the money. F...

Am not sure any fabric is going to do a completely sufficient job of catching all glass. And that concerns me very significantly. Thanks for the suggestions, had a browse of that kvr site, some good stuff. Only one I've played with so far is far synth1, getting some nice sounds already highly recommended.

Sorry if this has been done to death, but what are your most used free and SMALL VSTs/VSTis?
Currently travelling so have no space on my laptop for anything too big but I've got the itch to make some tunes.

i've knocked up a little example that should exploit some of the weaknesses inherent to mp3 compression. Its a clap with a large reverb presented in white noise. wave : 44.1 kHz / 16 bit http://www.mediafire.com/?3yg84f1iwi1vi6h mp3: 44.1 kHz / 320 kbs CBR http://www.mediafire.com/?vc4ayc7dmpdmss9 ...
