Cloak and Dagger - Ice Cold (grime/chiptune-influenced)
Been a while since I've made something that could accurately be called dubstep, so I'm posting it here. Hope you like it! Showing a lot of my influences here...jungle, grime, chiptune, etc. Any and all comments are welcome. https://soundcloud.com/cloak-and-dagger/cloak-and-dagger-ice-cold https://so...

Re: minibrute just arrived
Hey I just got mine yesterday!
It was fun enough that I forgot to eat dinner
Currently counting the seconds until I get home so I can play with it again...

Re: minibrute just arrived
Mine's still not supposed to be shipped until the end of this month...and then I have to wait for a friend to ship it out to Japan :( Can't really complain though, bought it as a birthday present for myself for $400, I know it's coming here eventually and will be happy once it arrives. I actually st...

Re: ableton arpeggiator problem
I have no idea about Ableton, but in Cubase there's a way to record the MIDI data onto a new track, so if the arp is off, you can record it to a new track and then manually correct / quantize the notes. I'm thinking there must be a way to do this in Ableton somehow as well...

Re: Arturia Minibrute
When they announced it, it was supposed to ship in feb... now I think first shipment to states is in april. I'm still supposed to get one off the first shipment, but I was the very last one... was leaving messages all weekend, and only got through to my guy on monday :( I reallly really want to see...

Re: Propellerhead to share "exciting news"
Question is, will R6 stand up to Bitwig Studio when that's released? I don't know why people are so hyped about this, its not proven itself at all yet. Might be great, might be crap. They're hyped because it's evolving on a great concept (Ableton Live), redoing it from the ground up, adding feature...

Re: Propellerhead to share "exciting news"
2> It's feasible that any device deemed 'missing' from Reason can now be added by anyone willing to program the thing.? Like a good eq, comp, and limiter... :O And Cloak, don't know about their sales, I saw their press conference, and I think 6 had the highest upgrade rate, like 250% over previous ...

Re: Propellerhead to share "exciting news"
Legitimately excited about reason. Seems like they're really stepping up their game. Thought they were completely down and out. They are still fighting. This could be completely untrue, but I swear I read somewhere recently that their sales have been immense in the past two years or so, apparently ...

Re: Arturia Minibrute
dunno how i' missed this-- pre-ordered one the day it was announced for sale; should be here next month. was toying w/ the idea of a slim phatty for a while, but this has a better interface and i'm actually totally pro-not-saving-patches. save the midi notes at the bottom of your session, and just ...

Re: Propellerhead to share "exciting news"
The article I read about it said it was going to be for developers.
A VST wrapper / rewire program would be amazing, but my guess is it's a kit to let developers make new devices for Reason.

Re: What are good sample packs with sweeps?
these new era of "producers" want everything done for them. jungle producers didn't have vengeance sample packs and prime loops... lol get creative :u: Yeah, they had Jungle Warfare, Future Music, and Planet DNB Valley of the Shadows is a couple of loops from a sample cd and a sine wave p...

Re: Anyone know any good Chiptune and Glitch vsts?
I love LSDJ. also: BLAM http://woolyss.com/chipmusic-plugins.php Wooly's didn't work. They all either crashed, failed to open, or make FL Studio's sound stop working. So I removed all the vsts I got from there. Every single one? If that's the case, you're doing something wrong; I've used loads of p...

Re: Tom Cosm's "Nothing But Kick"
This is nothing new, anyone who has entered the sample pack competition has had to manipulate samples way beyond recognition. You can load a single cycle waveform into a sampler and turn it into a synth, skys the limit! Have they done it with only 1 midi track of a 4/4 kick drum, using sends/return...

Re: Fab-filter Saturn
Just an aside, does anyone find some of their interfaces to be total shitty, like timeless and volcano2, and others to be as easy breazy as it can beezy, like pro-l, pro-c, simplon, and micro? Not coincidentally, Timeless and Volcano2 are a lot older than those other ones. They're also WAY more com...

Re: Best DAW for laptop/small screen?
I use Cubase on a 15" monitor and it works fine for me. I use the keyboard shortcuts for the monitor and have two buttons assigned to open / close the selected channel window and vst editor. I like Ableton, but the one thing I've never liked about it is that the interface feels totally cramped ...
