i do find it a bit surprising some people dont know about the originators...

but there are no fucking rules to making music are there?

someone with no knowledge of king tubby may bring some new ideas just as someone who owns every dub tubby ever made might do.

Im new.

Been in to dubstep for a while & just started producin.

Been making & releasing drum & bass for a few years under a different name. I feel the need to explore different things & the dubstep is one of them.

This site seems decent not to much netspeak. Always good.

yeah man best off to do it by ear.

you can also use wavelab to tell you what note a sample is.
or you can use spectral analysis.
cos some people take a while to train there ears, i did.

hmmmm iv listened to a few tracks by dnb producers......

i think you can afford to have a lot more space in dubstep mixdowns than you can in dnb these day.

i am a dnb producer myself, i am currently working on a load of dubstep stuff & finding it very liberating
