Re: Analyze !!

I like this a lot. The mix could use work to make it HIT a little harder. Otherwise though, love it.

Re: ***dubstepforum.com awards 2011*** VOTE!!!

Gwan rinse!

Moved to Amsterdam recently. The only thing i miss is my beloved Rinse. Driving home from the studio, rinse locked on the car sound. Lost count the ammount times i had to pull over and just stare in wonder at the dash. Golden period for me was 2005/6.

Nuff rispekt all Rinse Kru

Re: how do i make house stabs

They're quite skinny these stabs but for good detroit style stabs i find the best place to start is with a nice organ. it has that emmediate Attack which you need and if you've built it yourself, a control over the decay/sustain which is where you'll be able to introduce your own evolution to the st...

Re: Adding Weight to a rimshot?

Experiment with EQ'ing out a 'hole' for it in the mix.

I often find subtraction, rather than addition, yeilds better results.

agreed. bad call.. still though, he was nomiated. way i see it, the nominees of mercury are pretty much always the 'winners' .. their music is generally better and they're not stigmatized by the hot spot of 'win'.

well done burial for getting the nomination. good fuckin work homes.

Dynaudio make excellent active monitors.

2 words tho:

- Only buy active, their passive speakers are coloured to fuck and are no use at all.

- Make sure that you spend as much time treating your acousitc space as you have researching the speakers you're about to put in it.

loving this track. reminds me of some of the earlier dubstep that used to get airplay on Rinse. if there's any critisism to be made, i'd boost the midrange and make a couple notch cuts in the bottom end to create a more space for the non-sub basslines. at the moment they're all sharing similar frequ...
