i usually start by posting rinsed subjects on dubstep forum without bothering to search out the half a dozen or so identical threads that came before

then, like 90 percent of ppl, most of the time i go onto doing drums cos thats the fun part

or at least thats what i read on dubstep forum

simbi, cant really b bothered explaining what "conditioning" means (and anyway i didnt write it), but trust me, u r a pure by-product of it. u talk about "humanity" when what u actually mean is the dominant culture in the part of the world u grew up in. not the same thing, tho a ...

Re: Trademark names

please, if you hate me so bad... disagreeing with u twice in a week does NOT amount to hate. and on both counts i been pleasently surprised at how well u took the criticism, considering how direct it was. if u write stuff on here, especially if its at times arrogant, and even more so if its arrogan...

Run the sound in and out of the DAW and through a magic hardware box, but don't do this unless you have nice D/A conversion, otherwise you make the sound shitter on the way out and then even shitter on the way back in. yep. best solution imo. especially if theres tubes in the "magic box"

www.sweetwater.com EVERYONE seems to get their gear from sweetwater. ive bought a few pieces. fast service. zero complaints. had to pay import duty a couple of times, but still worked out cheaper than getting the same gear in europe. would prefer 2 give my money to some small shop here than a big mo...

mastering can help a lot on this front Try a slight EQ alteration on the master bus, bring the top end down a tad. sorry. perhaps wasnt v clear: i meant professional mastering in a proper studio, by an experienced engineer, with serious hardware, running thru analog compressors etc. not sure that t...

what u r after is probably not possible using software alone. software just isnt warm. its thin, clean and brittle sounding.

but maybe u r comparing yr un-mastered tracks with mastered ones, and mastering can help a lot on this front

have the same problem, even AFTER tracks have been mastered (professionally). always assumed that ppl with real loud tracks did versions of their tunes crushed to fuck specifically for myspace

deadly, will def try yr logic tip next time round. thanks

yeah, some ppl on here confusing "simple" and "easy", not the same things at all. sometimes making something real stripped and minimal, with all the hits (and spaces) in the right place can b the hardest thing of all

anyway, its all good

setspeed, drums on flay r real nice. would vary the type/length of reverb on the snare every now and then tho cos it gets a bit repetetive. but otherwise pretty damn sexy.

"vinyl crackle" from tape?

i think u might find sampling vinyl more suitable if thats what u r after

and tho tape DOES add something, unless u got an old valve tape machine i'm not sure its really gonna make THAT much difference

By cohesive or coherent i mean sounds that compliment eachother; hits that sound like they came from the same kit for example. never even considered this b4. just by the fact that ONE person uses the sounds, in ONE way, in ONE song, mostly is enough to hold it all seamlessly together. i think if u ...
