Detectorists
Anyone catch this? Great little show imo, well written/directed and really good character depth for such a short series.

Re: SNH Cycling thread
Been a pretty exciting tour so far, would like to see a bit more action from Canc though he has been mostly keeping his head down.
Gutted that some of the big climbers are out, who wouldn't want to have seen Froome vs Contador up Ventoux or d'Huez but o well.

Re: SNH Cycling thread
Sooo lots happened recently, Froome showed some strength on the Dauphine yesterday, really wanted to see him ride away from Contador but it didn't quite happen in the end.
Also, next years tour - Froome vs Wiggins showdown.

Re: What kind of sights/things hit you deeply?
News footage of when the Berlin wall came down always hits me quite hard, I'll admit I don't know the details about the history of it but it's really touching to see people coming together and overcoming the barriers (in this case physical) which are often put between us by politicians/people in pow...

Re: Whats Your Realistically Priced Dream Car?
Why are American models fucking rough compared to UK versions? For example this is the N America version of the ~2007 Ford Focus http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5a/2009_ford_focus_SES_sedan.JPG/800px-2009_ford_focus_SES_sedan.JPG Meanwhile in the UK: http://upload.wikimedia.org...

Tough choice, they both make me turgid.
E30's kinda have a chavvy rep so probably the Cosworth although E30 is more understated which is good.

Bogus story which will will never happen (not for 10 years at least). Cheap PR stunt by Amazon on the busiest day ecommerce day of the year.

Either you are riding upside down, (and/)or you have extremely long legs. ===== In California biking related news, was just told that a law just passed that automobiles must give bicycles 3' of clearance. If the car can't provide the clearance, they must wait behind the bike... let's see how this w...

UCI road championships tomorrow should be a good'en. This is my bike for riding into town etc, had 12 gears when I bought it but the rear derailleur decided it wanted to commit suicide and dived into the spokes which completely fcked it. Always fancied a s/s so just bodged it up. http://i44.photobuc...

Re: SNH Cycling thread
Yeah that was an intense stage, gutted he didn't get it. Still can't believe the pace of the peloton when it flattens out in these pro races now I know the amount of effort it requires to keep at 25/30mph on the flat for even a few minutes.hutyluty wrote:Tony Martin!

Anyone watching this? Episodes 1 and 2 available on 4od. Two more to go.
Could say the bleak British drama thing is over-done but I'm still enjoying it, Sean Harris is excellent.

Re: Ninja Gardening Thread
Hell yes! Moving into a new flat in August which has a garden with grass n everthing. Needs a good clear out first as the last tenants haven't really done anything too it but then I'm going to start growing some stuff. Is it even worth planting anything this late in the year or will it just die in t...

Re: Le Tour de France 2013
:h: Bakelants! Felt sure he was going to get swept up. This! Actually looked pretty scary to have about 50 riders bearing down on you. The Eurosport commentator was losing his shit in the last 50 meters. At times the peloton reminds me of some sort of horrible singular creature compiled from indivi...

Re: Le Tour de France 2013
Froome is looking good, hope he can get it after being so loyal to the team last year.
I don't know much about tactics, but why are Omega Pharma spending so much time at the front of the Peloton? Aren't they going to wear them selves out?
