Sometimes the used samples correspond to the music directly, sometimes they don't (but work as a comment or build some kind of a narrative frame...

Some type of harmonic exciter, saturator, maybe a parallel overdrive with a little plug in delay compensated linear phase eq killing the lows. @arktrix: It's not meant to be a Dubtechno tune. For me personally it is actually a Dubstep tune, I just went for the description because of the chords, delay and stuff. I would love to produce with a more minimalistic approach but I just can't.
