I think when production gets to the levels of anality it does with dnb whilst still essentially floggin the same dead horse musically, it makes a big difference. A lot of production doesn't necessarily improve the music that much and is pretty much the engineering equivalent of guitar solos ...

everyones tastes are wild and varying, with no consistency whatsoever. even my all time favourite artists of any genre have made tracks that i just don't like but thats their perogative as artists and labels, to put out stuff they like.
