Re: CD Duplication/Printing
I know a guy from PA who calls himself relic... do you party in pittsburgh ever? Haven't been out to pittsburgh in years. I know people out there though. Know there was a graf writer out there using the name too that got busted. Been using it since around 2000 though. Another guy using the name act...

Re: CD Duplication/Printing
What make/model of duplicator is it? Just a standalone Microboards 1 to 10, which means it burns 10 discs at once. I can do runs of hundreds same day. Printer is a Bravo 4100 capable of printing up to 4800 dpi. I burned and printed my own run of 200 full color discs and 100 black/white promos, whil...

CD Duplication/Printing
I haven't posted here in a long time, so excuse me if this comes off as spam. I recently purchased a high-end CD printer and 1 to 10 duplicator. I am willing to do runs of any size for djs/producers. Perfect for promo or official release. Full color or black/white on-disc printing. Silver, matte, or...

Re: things that have made you happy today
I don't post on here regularly much anymore, but this is some funny shit that made me happy today. I found this site called therealrelik.com. I've been using the name Relik for over a decade in producing/djing and he's doing stuff in similar genres I work in. Registering a domain name therealrelik.c...

Re: Best place to press vinyl?
Not too many places will do small runs like that WITH artwork. There are places that will do small white label runs though. The cost of doing a small run isn't really worth it though. You end up paying like $6-8 a plate, so there is virtually no profit in it. A run of 500, you'd be paying $2-3 a pla...

Re: mpk49 pads
main difference is the 24 has no note repeat and two less knobs. also there are probably differences with the software and drivers. i know a lot with the 24 said the mmc controls did not work at all depending on your DAW and then to get them to work you have to manually map. this was probably addres...

Re: Anyone know anything about networking?
Easiest would be to just setup a web/ftp server or VPN to share files. Aside from that...if you really want to make it a single network, you'd have to setup a domain controller and have both join the same domain or just get some type of SOHO access router. Don't really care to go into depth about ho...

Re: Mastering Software
he doubles up the tune in fruity loops and puts a high pass on one and EQs the second. It always sound much fatter! that sounds like a bad idea. i've tried out a bunch of different plugs...t-racks, psp, nomad factory, waves, etc. and i'm actually most happy with just using Antress Modern VFME compr...

i got one and you can't beat the price with the free synth coupon...that's pretty much worth it alone. hell i was going to buy another one just to use another coupon and then sell the unit on ebay.

Re: mpk49 pads
hmmm...i swear i posted in this thread before but it's all gone...anyway... if you do the electrical tape mod instead of getting pad corx, don't cut individual little pieces like in the video. it will take you forever. take 4 long pieces (enough to cut 16 squares) and layer them all on top of each o...

Re: High levels on mixer/hitting red with new turntable
i think you are just confused on how to use a mixer. just because your gain and eqs are center, doesn't mean it's not going to go in the red or give you the same overall volume for every track. you need to dial your gains accordingly for every single mix as every track is going to have a different o...

Re: Levelling Volumes in Mixes
you really shouldn't be touching the master when mixing...only the channel gains. if you aren't watching your levels when you mix, then you need to start. on my rane, i dial the gains so they are just hitting one orange. as long as you try and keep every track dialed at the same db, you should have ...

Re: MPD26 or MPD24
i have a 32...didn't know they made a 26. only complaint is the pads aren't as great as a real mpc like stated. you really got to hit them hard even with the threshold settings at most sensitive. you can open it up and layer some electrical tape on the pad sensors or get pad corx to make them more s...

SIN. I think that is a sign that you should donate it to the nowaysj charity for analog deprived producers. Haha...I jam out in it from time to time. Fun for wobbling. I was at a house party talking to dude about djing/producing and he was like "I got this synth, but I can only make sirens wit...

Re: Hard, subby kicks
take two 808s, distort one for the hard sound and keep the other clean for the sub. many other combinations of layering, just distorting a heavy kick, or even just sampling.

Re: Acid Pro needs SAMPLES/PACKS etc.
i used to use Acid all the time for mixing and chopping cause FL sucked with the pattern blocks and no automation clips in the playlist for the longest time. the chopper is also very nice and plenty of people who write jungle still use Acid. i'd still use it if FL didn't implement Acid's workflow an...

Re: A Good Snare Source?
best to make your own with a combination of layered hits. in FL, the original dance snare3 is pretty decent just by itself. layer claps, white noise, snares from breaks, etc.

i have the first gen krk 8s with the second gen sub. the 8s specs say they are good down to 45hz, but i always had a hard time mixing my bass with them and bought the sub. if you got a bass trap, the 8s alone would probably be fine, but it's still nice to have a sub. if i did it again, i'd probably ...
