Technically a square wave isn't a 'limited sine' but actually a super set of the fundamental frequency plus the 3rd harmonic at 1/3rd volume, the 5th harmonic at 1/5th volume, 7th harmonic at 1/7th volume, and so on (theoretically to infinity). To the original poster. 12 quid is way not the right price for Ableton Live. Just get the crack. Now before I revive the argument that cracks are bad for the industry, which they are to a good degree, I think its perfectly acceptable for a beginner to try a few cracks out rather than paying 500 euro...
