Re: FM8- How do I assign the LFO to the cutoff freq?

Hmm

Yeah, I seem to remember the Z and Y operators working in a slightly different way to the rest of them.

I will have a look and post back later.

Re: Renoise

I have been on Trackers since I was 10 years old (nearly 31 now).

Started on Sound Tracker on the Amiga, moved through ProTracker, MED, OctaMED, FTII, and then Renoise.

Renoise is IMMENSE.

Best designed software audio tool out there.

Surely this is obvious...

Pitch up, means the pitch of the song goes up, including the bass...

Ha!

I lived in Sheffield for years!

Crookes, Broomhill, Ecclesall, Nether Edge, etc.

Would be happy to do a collab with any of you youngsters, despite not living there anymore!

Re: renoise question

Renoise is the most direct way you are going to use samples to make music.

If you are making music that uses samples (ie, anything dance related), you are going to love it once you get into it.

Re: Free Emalkay remix of Faithless - Sun To Me!

Unrelated to the other guy slating this, I noticed something odd about the mix...

Listen to this on headphones... There is a clappy/metal percussion sound that is WAY panned to the right. The rest of the mix is fine, but this seems like a mistake.

Would not get heard very well on a mono rig...

Re: The Renoise Q&A thread

Absolutely HUGE update! Still finding new things they have added even after hitting it hard for a day or so. The Pattern Arranger makes everything SO much better, and the graphical enhancements are ace too. Bit hard to find a few things at first, but when you do, it makes a lot more sense. TIP: the ...

Yeah, of course you are not too old. Music is an art form, and is valid for all ages.

End of, basically.

Making music with technology is a learning process too, and life long learning is great. :e:

Re: heavy kicks,claps and snares?

Native Instruments Synthetic Drums, and Native Instruments Studio Drums.

Studio Drums, especially, has the best snare samples I have ever heard. Layer up a few of those babies with some nice distortion, and you will hurt ya sen.

@yellowhighlighter; you are using Renoise, right?

The rewire implementation in that is very very well made. Give it a go!
