Re: brostep

i understand that styles evolve, but i think we need to take caution. i'm not going to name names, but some tunes just turn the dancefloor into backwards baseball cap brofest. i'd hate to have another style of music that i enjoy playing and dancing to get morphed into an unpalatable mush of midrang...

Re: production interview with Eskmo

Nice one! "I mix down all my material, always. When i collab with friends, there is always a shared effort in the mixdown process, but for my own it's different. For any releases that go out into the world on vinyl or cd or digi, someone else always masters it. " Is he talking about mixing...

totally diggin lambeth from the 1st listen, all the sounds seem fresh to me except the drums, which i have no qualms with.

untitled is a bit too 'untrue' for me, if the youtube comment is for real i can see why, i would be disappointed if this came out on an album. i don't like the vocals either.

anyone got experience with this 90 quid piece of equipment from numark?

also, can anyone spot any potential bumps from this one? ie, could it sound like crap? i'm well tempted to get this thing, just for cueing up tracks with ableton.

Has anyone else found the preset on the malstrom on reason 4 that sounds identical to the into to 'anti-war dub' by those dmz guys? I think they used it straight out of Reason. Could be wrong, but I think that statement sums up my view on using presets. Using an unedited preset is akin to recording ...

learning how to layer.

ie, instead of searching for one source of sound to create a noise, learn how to put multiple ones together to achieve the noise. so useful in all aspects of tunes, especially drums.
