Re: Tes La Rok - Xtrack & Tutorial

Thanks mate! I'm not really into templates. I kinda want to start from the scratch every time. Kinda like a clean canvas that allows you to paint anything and with different styles. I like to save channel strip or effects settings time to time, but back in the days I didn't even save Logic own envi...

Re: Tes La Rok - Xtrack & Tutorial

Haven't been on DSF in a while and the title caught my attention, glad I checked this out. Grabbing the Logic file and going to check it out. Thanks for sharing it! @Tes La Rok - have you ever created templates for Logic to make it a little easier to jump into an idea or vibe? I have one I knocked u...

Re: The Logic Q&A Thread

On Logic X: how can I adjust the grid in the arrangement window so that I can see only 1/4, 1/8 notes, 1/16, 1/8 triplets, etc... like I just see the gridlines and the zooming tools adjustments as you zoom. Is there a way to set what gridlines you are seeing? I do drums in audio and this would make...

Use something like Audio Hijack (the demo version can record for up to 9 minutes per "hijack" before it gets wonky), or Soundflower.

Re: Any E-MU Sampler Owners On DSF ?

I have a 6400 Ultra. I'm by no means a wizard / expert with it (and I'm talking about both using the EOS and/or hardware maintenance of it), and I'm no where near where I want to be with "sound" from it, but I'm willing to try to figure stuff out and record video. I threw these up a couple...

Re: E-MU sampler questions ?

This thread reminded me of buying this e64 (not a ultra, has a hd though) that's rotting in a local store. How much? I've thought about buying a 6400 Classic, to see how it compares to the relatively stock 6400 Ultra I have. Got the Ultra for $200 U.S. off of a friend (with about 20 E-MU sample CDs...

Re: E-MU sampler questions ?

Yo I'm thinking of picking up an E-MU E5000 Ultra but iv got a few questions... How do you get sound to and from the E-MU ? :dunce: I have a Focusrite Saffire 6, and I have a pair of the outs running in to the E-MU. I also have a stereo line mixer that goes to the audio input on the Saffire 6; the ...

Re: Prodigy sample sources

Anyone done any great crate digging lately? Not exactly crate digging, but finally went through all the sample CDs that came with my EMU, found a lot of familiar stuff. And I have about 400~500 records given to me that I need to go through, a lot of disco, soul and rock. I think that's going to be ...

Re: creating a looped 808 sub bass in logic?

well, in esx when you turn loop on, at first it is set to loop the whole of the audio file, so if you have a clean cycle cut from the 808, hen it will loop seamlessly. you have to go into view in the esx sample editor window though and click it on so that you can access the loop controls i dont see...

Re: Delete your samples

In the past year I have tried to reduce my sample library, pretty much just working out of a favorites folder for material. Just yesterday I was thinking of taking the back-ups (the original downloads pretty much), zipping them up and storing them, so they are out of sight, but if for some reason I ...

Re: The Dungeon Sound

I made a couple tracks downloadable on Soundcloud today. I wrote these earlier this year, inspired by artists from this sort of spectrum, music from this thread, and some of the discussions on the production forum. Not sure if it necessarily fits:

Re: Playing out - do you DJ for free?

As I've gotten older, the old "oh, a few guest spots and drinks, ok" is no good for me. Usually none of my friends are coming out anyways, and I'd rather get some money than a few drinks (which I end up giving most away anyways). And like it's been said a few times, if the promoter is maki...

Re: cue juggling in Logic?

Not sure of something like cue juggling, but yeah, bouncing down and making an EXS24 patch would work. You could even assign sample start in the EXS24's matrix, and use a mod wheel to move between points. I think there was a thread about that on here, or maybe on DOA. Seem to see some similar cross-...
