Re: brostep production massive.
they are just kids with computers playing games (called FL studio, reason, cubase...), and posting their results on the internet... they are no musicians... But out of 20 of them, at least 1 or 2 will get addicted, continue and develop themselves into real producers who put their soul into music (w...

i know plenty of theory, been thinking in terms of scales since i was 10... and i still just fuck around til i find something that sounds good. doesn't make that much of a difference whether you know the stuff or not, as long as you've got some artistic vision behind it. i know guys who are studyin...

Re: Emalkay - When I Look At You SUB Help!
Try using Albino 3 and detuning sine waves and adding a cream filter at around 2100Hz along with slight LFO modulation to the cutoff... mess around, see what you get. It's all about trial and error

Re: Whats wrong with just using sub
I reckon it is good to have some sort of mid range harmonics in there so that it is listenable on all mediums, for example people who are listening to your tunes on laptop speakers (which will be the majority) will not be able to hear your bassline if it is solely sub frequencies... When producing y...

Re: Noise pollution/reducing volume for neighbours
Literally, cut out your bass frequencies and you will get no more complaints... the wavelengths of sub frequencies are a couple of metres long depending on the note, so they will travel through walls, floors, ceilings.. anything, compared to those of mid range which are much shorter in length and wi...

I'm studying BA Music Production at Leeds Met.... to be honest its definitely not what I expected it to be... it is like the course content has not been updated for many years. The first module we did was Composition skills... basically learning how to read music notation and scores and other boring...

have you tried a defrag and reinstalling the drivers? after every major project a re-image my PC and reinstall the DAW and the drivers. i've done this with the PCI Echo Layla to the USB 1.0 box i have and even on the FireFace and ProFires I use. i know it's a pain to reimage and reinstall stuff but...

Re: Chasing Shadows brutal
As much as I love Chasing Shadows, they really need a new lead synth sound. Exact same sound on every tune I know what you mean, but I presume they just wanna define their own sound, though I agree a little variation never goes amiss. Lots of artist's rinse the same sounds though, if you discover a...
