have fun with it twas a little trick Ill.Gates told me about. not always effective but works sometimes.

if you're on a macbook you can invert the screen colour by hitting ctrl+option+command+8. This sometimes helps if your in sunlight.

1 oscillator > sine wave > fixed around 200-250hz >fast attack, short sustain,decay and release & make your midi notes short > layer with natural sounding snares/claps > voila

...and for something different layer with field recordings of filtered knocks, clicks and bumps.
