Re: Parallel Compression Demo

Other thing I was thinking about but kind of ignored was possible problems from phasing? I usually am very precise about where my Sub bass goes and whether it is in Phase and Mono etc... seems to me it would be possible to actually lose Bass by mixing 2 versions of together especially if one is slig...

Re: Parallel Compression Demo

Yeah was just talking NY comp! never really bothered with it before but quite enjoyed playing with it. Does seem to be effective to get that Thump in there. I had not used an EQ before the Comp before and that really seems to make a big difference. I see what your saying about drums and Bass sent to...

Parallel Compression Demo

So I have been playing with Parallel Compression with mixed results initially but I think I have it working quite well in this tune. I have 2 sends running with comps on. An EQ before the Comp so one is only squishing Bass and Trebles and the other is just Mids. Ratio is roughly 3:1, slow attack and...

Re: Ma'ev - Kurdish(feedback, if you like ask for 320)

Yo.

yeah I like this, general vibe and sound choice.
Processed vocals sound cool and bass is heavy.

you could neaten it up a little?

Maybe some variation in there?

but maybe this is how you like it?
Vibe is great and Kick hits really well

Re: phasescope, what am i looking at and what can it do for

you should be aiming for a vertical line with a bit of body. Solo bass - should be vertical line not much body High end - can be wider.... becareful of presets as the programmers make these bizare super phat sounds which sound cool when you flick past but will cause headaches when mixing/mastering.....

Re: Anyone into foley? (film sound)

There are lots of methods if you explore.... I have been making contact mic's from buzzers that I get in Maplin for about 80p. all you do is wire them up to a jack plag or guitar lead and it works! you clip it or tape it to a surface and it picks up all vibrations perfect for impacts and 'found' sou...

Re: An idea + questions about MIDI mapping for live performa

+1 on ableton it is pretty stable and easy to get your rewired stuff into live format. what I like is that it is quite customisable and you can kinda think what you wanna do then work out a way of doing it you might find this interesting http://createdigitalmusic.com/2009/07/take-it-to-the-stage-ref...

yes mate liking this vibe and progression.

I rekon you should toughen up drums though, enhance the riddims will make it easier and more satisfying in the mix
