eq out any frequencies not nescessary, including sub frequencies (if you don't have a separate sine wave sub layered underneath thats something you should look into) compress it more and make it a bit quieter so other elements have more room to breathe sidechain the bass. you can sidechain to an EQ ...

you could put a short chord stab at the beginning of every measure. put some reverb on it, it would contrast with the rhythm led nature of the song and fill out the song sonically and melocially

sometimes i record individual sounds onto cassette and resample them. adds grit and flavor to the sounds

most general midi soundfonts will have a few choir sounds in them. kind of cheesy, but great if that's what you're going for (i love cheesy midi/PCM sample choirs)
