Dubstep is turning all DNBy nowadays. There's a split between the over the top comedy pill munching jump up and the deeper stuff (which is increasingly sacrificing raw immediacy and power for the sake of atmospherics) and a similar audience split i.e. the internet ...

Yeah, when I was an undergrad I used to have a teacupful of the output of one of those every morning. I didn't realize at the time that it was actually esspresso strength which probably explains why I normally got nauseous about half way to lectures.

Listening very selectively really helps. I only listen to the output of a few labels whose releases I really appreciate and some weekly/monthly radio-shows to know what's going on for the rest. The rest of my listening-time is happily spent on other music.
