I learnt about production from reason 4.0 . I've moved on to acid pro now and wouldn't think twice about going back but starting out I wouldn't have even looked at something like acid simply because reason is just much easier to get your head round.

So this maybe a wierd question, but does anyone know of a good Freq. Analyzer that represents the frequency with vertical bars instead of a single line. My eyes aren't good to me you see.

I just find the ones with the lines harder to look at :?

Why do people (no offense) ask such stupid questions?

Every synth has Attack & Release, therefore has the ability to make nice pads. So I would recommend any synth that has more than 3 oscillators with adjustable attack & release.

He didn't ask what synth can make a pad though ...

One thing that stands out to me is that stutter on the bass, i think itsounds awesome

Sounds like the high mids are quite prominant in it which makes it cut through, probably a fair amount of compression too.

Then again I am still a production noob, I'm gonna wait and see what others bring to the table

I don't know if this would work but basically a track is selected that has some big bass to it. We then have to recreate this sound through any means (not sampling :roll: ) if anyone else thinks this would be a good idea post on this thread, and if anyone has any ideas for the first song let us know ...

thanks for all the replies guys helpful, I'm using acid pro 7 but the built in vst plug ins dont work (not sure why ) i was using nyquist eq before and just cutting me bass out. Was just wondering if using other vsts would improve the sound dramatically
