Pioneer: Honestly, the best choice, industry standard, most clubs have it
Yuck!

Pioneer mixers are pretty terrible considering the sheer quality offered by the competition.

Oooh... flashing lights!
Yeah okay...but most redlining DJs don't seem to realise what those lights represent and how ...

With about a grand to spend on a mixer I'd be seriously looking at some Ecler gear if I were you, as well as the other suggestions, but seriously bollocks to Pioneer tbh.

The Ecler Evo4 would be bang on the money, or even just the Nuo4 and save some cash.

Ecler, Rane, A&H, probably somewhere in ...

Aphex Twin invented dubstep on a beach in Cornwall circa '91, you had to be there really, but why go back when forwards holds the adventure?

I use the old shelves from my now sadly deceased beer fridge, they're perfect, not too big, nor too small as they'll fit anything from lil' netbooks and 13" jobbies up to 17" beasts. Due to the way the shelf had a little lip at the back, now when it's upside down it elevates my laptop gently towards ...

Use the proper gear for starters, shouldn't fuck up too much then.

Try getting hold of an genuine copy of Traktor with a NI Audio8, or if you must cheap skate it with a hooky copy run it through an Audio4 instead.

You getz what you payz for innit
