Re: Looking for a propper collab

Share the love....

Re: Meeting like minded people....

Yeah it was popping off in Brighton but I induldged in the student lifestyle too much and only met a handful of people. Regrettably i'm not there anymore. That production night sounds like a sweet idea. Except the location... Why do most people have horrendous tastes in music? :( Any heads in Essex ...

Re: Meeting like minded people....

a music production course tempted to try and find a short course to possibly meet some people, good shout!! As far as going to nights is concerned, it always a case of travelling quite far to a club that's gonna be spinning that genre of music. For example if I wanted to meet peeps makin hip hop i'...

Meeting like minded people....

Whats the best way? Since not djing I don't speak to, or interact much, with other budding musicians. Looking to meet people who are into a range of dance styles (not just dubstep) and start collabing face to face. Apart from forums and actually goin to clubs, what's the best way to meet like minded...

Re: Cubase SX3 Stereo/Mono/Panning help

Just got another couple questions regarding panning, I understand how panning a mono sample will give it its own place in the stereo field but why pan a stereo sample? How do you lot pan stereo sounds? Do you reduce their "width" and then place them where u like? How does panning a mono sa...

Re: Cubase SX3 Stereo/Mono/Panning help

Yeah probably got our wires crossed or I'm just being a dick...... For example, on my analog mixer I have a synth hooked up. Channel 1 panned hard left, channel 2 panned hard right. When I record this into a cubase it is onto just one audio channel. This is where I'm stuck, I've got the synth record...

Cubase SX3 Stereo/Mono/Panning help

Noob question, but its frying my brain :u: Ive got a stereo audio file that I load into a stereo audio channel in Cubase SX3. In Cubase SX3, why when I load a new stereo audio channel does it only create one channel that is panned to centre? I presumed there would be 2? Is this becuase it is the act...

Re: How do you know when..

When criticising your own tracks though, when do you say enough is enough and move on? I could spend weeks/months playing around with synths and effects. If I make something that I think is good I'll always listen to it with a 3rd person perspective and then pick it apart which always results in me ...

On second thoughts I suppose this would only be necessary when recording something where the level may fluctuate such as a vocalist. right?

Recording and Compression

I am gonna be running through a mackie desk and was just wondering if you lot would use a compressor whilst recording or use it afterwards? What are the pros and cons? Also is there any other...

Re: How much time do you spend producing each week?

Between 0 and about 10/15 atm. Mainly cos of Job, Inspiration, and not wanting to sit in my room on my own when all my flatmates are chilling in the lounge (possibly laziness??!!! although I do feel that if I was around people who produced/DJ then I would do a LOT more, have done in the past) When I...
