Re: Ableton, producing on 2 different laptops
Use Dropbox or Copy. Collect all and save and work in the shared folder. Bam, your project works everywhere. You've got to have the same VSTs or freeze the tracks though.

Re: "Panning" Drums (Emphasis on "")
i dont really know how you would get an illusion of something panning, moving from one speaker to the next, without actually doing it. You can create the illusion of something being panned by relying on the Haas effect, which you actually explained a bit further down your post. It's a very interest...

Re: collect and save
Which DAW are you using? It doesn't work that way in Ableton Live or Cockos Reaper.
It's probably doing it to save space.

You can't use Live's native effects in other DAWs, sadly.

Re: My Little DAW Fiasco
It definitely starts up 10 times faster than Live. Other things that pop up in my mind right now, that I really missed in Live - groups in groups, jog/scrub, amazing routing, take-based FX, better crossfade control, better FX freezing (you can freeze send channels), touch/latch/trim/read automation ...

Re: My Little DAW Fiasco
My question was actually directed towards the OP, but I don't mind reading other people's opinion. I've been using Ableton Live for quite some time now, but I recently switched to Reaper. It has some amazing functions which really come in handy in what I do. And that price tag? That trial period? Su...

Re: Question About Bouncing Audio in Ableton... Please Help!
You can just bounce your tracks in place by using the freeze>flatten function (won't work if you have side-chaining going on though). Or sample your groups/busses by using another track, then get rid of the originals (after saving a new project of course).

Re: Moving every envelope automation in arrangement (ableton
There's an Ableton Q&A topic for these questions.
Is your envelope lock button on? This button (depending on the state it's in) will help you either copy both notes and automation or copy them independently.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
I've searched all over the web for this, but it turns out that google wasn't my friend this time. I'm currently warping loops from my tracks for a live set. I included the reverb und delay tails of the imported loops, because I was sure there was a way to seamlessly loop a clip and have the tail pl...

Mostly tired, not bored. There are gigs every night, as well as late night studio sessions so the need for sleep sometimes kicks in during the lectures.Brothulhu wrote:I hate how all the people in the audience look so bored all the time

Re: Limiter on master track
Doesn't Alan X want to say that you should put a limiter on your master for safety reasons, in order to avoid loud spikes and destroying your speakers? Not for making tracks loud. At least that's what I gather from his post.

As far as I know, if they are in your main VST folder, Live will work fine.
