Firstly, I know there have been countless threads on monitors but they haven't actually hit the nail on the head for me. So here we go. I want to buy some/a monitor for dubstep production. I am a big fan of "body shaking" bass etc but cant really get the sounds out my creative 5.1 PC syst...

Right, basically i know what in my eyes sounds good, yet i can't seem to produce anything in my head as my mind just goes blank and i dont know where to start, i try playing around with some drums, i dont get a beat that im feelin, i mess around with bass, theres no influence behind it and it sounds...

What do you guys first to when it comes to producing Dubstep?
Create a beat first and get in your head how your tune is gonna sound,
or make some bass, thin about a beat and work around that point?
Share how you come about creating a new beat ;)

But going back to step one, where can i find samples of whatever are there any preferd sites anyone likes to use that you can reccomend me and do i have to use recycle to sample the voice? (i have never used recycle before only basic reason)

Ah okay, thanks man, ill try it out in a bit which is when (hopefully) i should have my reason back -.-
I know you do not use Reason much now but do you have any tips on how i could use a combinator effectively and properly?
And btw, are u sure you didn't mean Dr Rex and not Redrum? :)

Vocal samples (Help Please)

I have read up on how to import vocal samples into Reason yet i can't get my head around all technical talk, Im not 100% sure on all the technical names and what not within Reason yet would like to be able to simply import snippets of speech out of films easily and effectivly

what I would say is that your parts need separating and placing more into individual space's (especially the bass), using filters and EQ's....this can be time consuming in reason as you only get a two band eq (from what I remember), try routing your signal through a couple of the eq's first.
