If you're using logic there's a stock plug in called EVP88, that and a filter is pretty much all you need.

Re: How do you guys prefer to handle your drums in logic?

Yeah I used to use ultrabeat but it was such a pain in the arse, so now I use esx24, recently got konakt though, so i might try and use that, although I'm quite liking just jamming them in with esx, you can get a nice groove and I'm familiar with how to adjust things.

Re: Powerful Kicks

Yeh you have to watch out for phasing when you layer kicks, it can actually reduce the power you're trying to create. I like using Kombinat on my kicks, you can make them sound quite fat with that.

Re: Dubstep Computer

You don't need a 5.1 set up for making music, unless you want to go in to post production. Maybe just get yourself a Dell, for like 400-500 bucks and then get an interface and actual monitors instead of computer speakers. Look at the focusrite scarlett, maybe some krk's, or yamaha hs50's. These will...

Go for hardware, limiting yourself will inspire greater creativity.

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

@clayrocks - very nice track man, smooth and I love the composition and the drum placements, maybe add a higher pitched bell/triangle with a long trail in to the progression if you want @altron - love the moody vibe of this, especially with that pad, it ties in all the other elements in together, I'...

Convergent technologies and it's impact on DJing

Writing an essay on digital technology and how it's taking over DJing.

Was wondering if anyone has any useful links to articles or interviews about this that I could use, I'm trying to gather all the research I can at the moment.

Any help will be appreciated thank you.

just make a sound that pitches up and cut holes in it. Or short stabs that pitch up on the mod wheel.
