intresting topic, i always get asked what it is and i never know how to descrbe it i just say "slow drum and bass with weird basslines but you have to listen to it" but i also read the skream intervew and he described it as "urban folk music" i will have think about this one... ...

you should check out focusrite audio interfaces. they have some great products that might be just what you're looking for, and most of them come with excellent mic preamps.

someone told me you need to get rid of the third prong ground with those 3 to 2 prong converters breaking off of prongs is easily some of the worst advice ever then back it up and say why if it works why not? why spend 500 dollars for a 5 dollar fix and no one is breaking off anything...its a conve...

Maybe try a google search for reggae sheet music and guitar tabs, then write some similar chord progressions? Try laying down a chord sequence first and writing your bassline after.
