Re: strange control surface problem
never seen it jump above 45%. the keyboard works fine in reason, so I know it's something to do with ableton. I just re-installed and it's still doing it, so it could be some disagreement between the keyboard and ableton, which then tricks it out for the laptop keyboard as well.

strange control surface problem
Okay this is a weird one.. about an hour and a half ago everything was working fine and now not only is my control surface (m-audio keyreg 25) playing up in Ableton, but the setting to use your laptop keyboard as a controls surface is acting up as well? Basically if I hit a note on the MIDI keyboard...

using audio to modulate? the opposite of a sidechain?
hey guys, i'm looking for a way to modulate MIDI with audio, in a way that's sort of the opposite of a sidechain.. as in, when you sidechain B, it ducks when A hits, right? i want B to increase in volume when A hits, and when B isn't making any noise, B isn't making any noise. anyone know a way? if ...

live performance, reason 4, and control pads
Hi guys, basically I've been asked to join a band recently doing sound effects and keyboards and stuff like that. I've been thinking about how to pull this off and decided the best way would be to continue with what I'm familiar with: pre-programming everything in Reason 4, and using a korg padkontr...

Re: The best technique/piece of advice you've heard
I made this thread back in april, and looking at what I listed in my first post I've got to say the two most important things I've learned since then are also two of the most basic: 1. Sample choice. Especially when used for percussion, spend time finding or creating the cleanest and most precise sa...

Tim Exile's live rig
I figured some of you here would find this interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r38r3BIgew&feature=related Tim Exile talks us through his live set up, which is powered by Reaktor and controlled using various behringer (i know what you're thinking) midi controllers. It's fully inspired me...

Re: How to i fade in/out clips in reason?
you're all acting like he's an idiot but not one of you have told him how to properly make a clip fade in and out. internet forums tend to have a lot of people with sub-par social skills though, so i suppose it's understandable. if you're doing it with the faders on your mixer, right click the fader...

Re: DJW - DONT LOOK DOWN! (NEW TUNE!!)
sounding good man, i love the synths you've chosen for each track and they way to work together, not too OTT. it creates a really dark brooding kind of vibe, but without relying purely on ridiculous sounding bass patches. drop w-bit crusher if you're spinning tonight!
