Re: Working Out....

Fasted cardio because of some general preference (some people perform better fasted, even feel like they have more energy -- which is possible because digestion is an energy intensive process for your body) isn't unrecommended. I personally have 1500 - 2000 calories before I workout myself, though. ...

Re: DJ Tips?

I'm not the greatest DJ, but slowly improving. But elements in the tunes (fills, stabs, filter sweeps, etc) will often dictate what to do when, I think. It also helps going out a lot and listening to other DJ. You'll notice even the best have little mess-ups when you really pay attention to it. But ...

Re: Sub Bass Trouble

If your adding distortion to it then you might as well make it your mid sound =). Not necessarily. Distort a sine and compare that to the aforementioned squarewave; same thing. The distortion adds harmonics to the sine creating a squarewave. By routing the sine to a separate send, distorting it and...

Re: Sub Bass Trouble

genevieve is right, a sub is a simple sine wave. I hardly ever sidechain as i despise house music and that is where I hear the most sidechaining done. It is not necessary. However I have found it helpful to add a little bit of square wave to the sine to add some harmonics. Oh yeah true, there's usi...

Re: Sub Bass Trouble

Sub bass is the single most overthought thing in production. You literally cannot mess this up at all if you just stick to the simple principle that sub bass needs to be lower than your kick. Nothing else will be as low anyway. If you're gonna saturate it, send the signal to another channel, but kee...

Re: Monitors that are kinda Hi Fi

Wouldn't something that isn't that boomy sound boomier than it is on a system like that and in fact keep you from getting that aesthetic accurately? Something that sounds boomy on your system may not sound that way on a different one. I'm not trying to be critical of your choice, just curious if tha...

Re: Monitors that are kinda Hi Fi

Why this type of "monitor"? Because you're used to mixing on a boomy system?

Re: DEKMANTEL Festival 2014 - Amsterdam

HAHAHA. It hasn't changed much since my older pictures. I have a high but narrow bicep (naturally thin bones, check my tiny wrists/forearms). So from the front it looks nonexisting, but it has size from the side.

But I honest to god did not post that to show anything off.

Re: DEKMANTEL Festival 2014 - Amsterdam

Hessle played too safe tbh tho I did like them. Ben UFO, Pariah, Karenn, Plaid, Shackleton and Caribou were really dope. Really enjoyed Jackmaster/Oneman, Atom tm and Mount Kimbie and Surgeon as well. I left Three Chairs after 10 minutes cuz the sound sucked shit. Joey Anderson was quite the letdown...

Btw, will be back after Dekmantel. I'm going back to college soon and I wanted to get as much done for that before Dekmantel so I won't put things off. So I couldn't devote the time I'd like to my replies. If I somehow forget, by all means bump. Tho it was good to have a break from the debate. I lik...

Re: Ninja Economics

Yeah I get that, but why does it have to be perfectly free market vs perfectly central planning? Why can there be no middle ground with a Government that doesn't act like a central planner but steps in when required? I know the argument is that it effects the market and leads to other crises but th...

Re: Ninja Economics

Nope, that's what Austrian school economics is based on. And perfect central economic planning can't take into account each individual's economic wants, needs and actions. People not being computers (that's libertarian lingo) makes government action too complex for central economic planning, since ...
