SPLIT ... not layer per se.
Ch1 - SINE 30hz - 120hz // MAKE MONO
Ch2 - SINE 100hz - 1khz // CHORUS/WIDEN/EFFECT/WHTVR

Re: Question about mono/stereo basslines
@bmar22 & @Triphosphate Yeah it's all about layering really ... the chorus layering trick just basically, gives your sub more presence/audibility and makes it so you can "hear" it on laptop speakers and other speakers that don't make sub. "then take the high frequencies and make t...

Re: Question about mono/stereo basslines
I keep my bass in mono, then i duplicate it ... and cut at 100hz, and add a chorus. This widens it, and keeps original power too.

Re: Finding it near impossible to release a track
Re: track ... I would maybe layer another snare underneath, and those djembes I would saturate and have them abit louder in the mix. The pads I would make phatter sounding, and I really like that fx sound on the 2nd drop (maybe some delay on it?) I guess the key thing to ask yourself is ... Is this ...

How to make single voice sample, sound like a crowd?
I've got a sample of a person shouting a sentence ... but I want to make it so it sounds like there's a crowd of people shouting it .... like a small football crowd :6: ... I've tried doubling it up 2, 3 times and delaying them slightly and putting some reverb... but got some dodgy results from it ....

Is the 'Back to Arrangement' button at the top of the screen on Red? If so, it might be that ... when it's on red, it stops recent automation changes from working ... click on it to murk it offprelich wrote:but when I do draw in the automation, it does nothing.

Re: My bass sample peaks at 80hz. How to take it lower?
@the_agonist wow thanks a lot man, you just confirmed it all for me. I had already split the guitar bass sample 2 ways, high passed at 400 to process the high content separately and low passed at 150. But I guess 3 bands is the way to go: 30-55hz (my friends subwoofer getting some action) 80-100hz (...

My bass sample peaks at 80hz. How to take it lower?
I got a track in which my sub-line is just a 1-hit sample of a bass guitar. When I spectrum analyze it peaks at 80hz. And it sounds all well and good on my KRK RP5s, rattles my room and stuff. But when I tested it out on my friend's subwoofer. There was absolutely no sound from the subwoofer....

2 hihats playing at the same time, causing phasing...
I got 2 identical open hihats, one pitched up, one pitched slightly down. When they hit at the same time a weird/nasty phasing sound occurs.
Anyone know how to mend this? Sorry if it's a stupid q.
Edit: Also I don't want to change hihat if I can avoid it ... thanks!

Re: EQing my bassline
Now when you say small dent what are we talking? Like just a few DB? Really skinny cut? Wide? According to this how-to video on tear out bass lines, the author at 2:15 suggests: "Dip around 500 hz. Reduce up to 8db using a medium Q curve. Another big dip around 2kHz." But that's just a ro...

Re: Final Mastering/Compression
I just would like to see how they sound with a little amateur touch added to the final mix. If you just wanna boost the level of your mix, so that its as loud at the professional stuff, cos you wanna upload your tunes to soundcloud/myspace, want DJs to play em, etc ... this is what I do .. Master C...

Re: EQing my bassline
are you talking about mid range - tear out style wobble? yeah cut all the sub from it ... and make a small dent around and 500 - 800 .. but depends how much distortion you've used it on it ... the more distortion used, the more taking frequency removing is needed

Re: Best Free Stereo Enhancer?
^ that's interesting. Cool im gonna try grouping my sounds in my latest mix, doing all the dynamic-killing in the group stage, rather than on my master so that it won't hurt my original stereo width so much... cheers man
