Re: What's on your studio shopping list?
Thanks for the opinion bud.. I was definitely leaning toward the Saffire 6 in my head so I think you've just tipped the scales for me!

Re: What's on your studio shopping list?
I have just bought some Alesis Prolinear 720DSP monitors
Am trying to decide between the Focusrite Saffire 6 soundcard and the Lexicon Lambda... Anybody have any experience with these or an opinion/comparison? Will be buying in the next couple of days.. Perhaps even tomorrow

Re: Question about monitor connection
All I can see on the Lambda is 1/4" outs and it seems the only input the Alesis 720's have doesn't fit that? Sorry you may have to walk me through this, I'm a veteran car audio installer but I'm very new to studio monitoring!
I have heard the Alesis' and think they sound great, I'm 90% I'm going ...

Question about monitor connection
Hi there
I have been looking in to getting a set of monitors and a soundcard.
The soundcard I am leaning toward is the Lexicon Lambda (http://www.lexiconpro.com/product.php?id=8) as it has a good amount of inputs for instruments which I want, is affordable and looks the nuts.
My problem is, I ...

Re: The 'help me make this sound!' thread
Can anyone help me with how to make the sound on Funtcase's Wizard Sleeve just after the drop at 26 seconds.
It is the sound with the pitch bend I'm after. Sounds like they've routing an ADSR filter to the pitch of the oscillators which are playing two detuned saws but I just can't get that sound ...

Re: "swoosh" before the snare
As was just said, you just need to reverse the snare
Load the snare up in to a sampler and most have a Reverse function. Click that and away you go.
You may have to trim off a tiny bit at the end (beginning when it's forward) or put a tiny fade, but probably not!

Whistling Synth
Does anyone have an idea of how this synth was made? It's not a sound I have tried playing with before and have no idea where to start building it to be honest!

(12th Planet - Reasons [Doctor P Remix])
The whistling synth starts at just after 55 seconds!

Want to expand what I listen to.
I've got two questions for you fine steppers.
Firstly, I want to gain a broader knowledge of the dubstep I like to listen to so am looking for suggestions of different producers and songs that I should be buying. I am into the heavier, stomach churning, distorted bass type stuff. People like ...
