Re: Who gets lonely in the studio?
My girlfriend sometimes tries to lure me to her when I'm producing for hours. I try to ignore it but she usually starts to fake cry but no matter how many times she's done it I always give in. She broke up with me twice because I haven't been spending time with her :corncry: I now always find ways ...

Dunno if I'm missing something here but... Why not just pitch *both* your sub and your midrange bass line up by 1/2/3/4/whatever semitones?

Re: Headphones: AKG K272? Opinions?
I've used AKG's K 271 MK II for a couple of years now.* They are a little underwhelming in the bass department and a bit too bright at first but I can do mix downs in them now. I still don't trust myself to really get in about the low end though. The build quality is great; I've been taking them on ...

Re: School for Audio engineering?
This isn't really an either/or situation in my mind. If you choose to study electrical engineering/computer science/informatics/IT then I can assure you any half decent school will have a lot of audio/media modules related to this. I know a few guys who did elec. eng., did their projects on guitar a...

^^^ Lol, yeah I get that, I use Ableton; they just seem a bit unaware that EQ8 can get 48 db/octave slopes (or 60 or 72 etc.)

Re: Something about EQ
cutting frequencies that rigidly though will make your sounds not sound natural. especially when doing it to every track in your mixer It really depends on what frequencies you're cutting. I always use a 48dB per octave HPF on every track (including subs) at 28-30Hz to allow more headroom and energ...

If he's using a limiter to stop clipping...then his channel's aren't clipping, they're being limited. Simple really. Try being more heavy handed with your compression to make it louder; you'll know when you've gone overboard. Similarly with your EQ. Getting everything out of the signal that you don...

If he's using a limiter to stop clipping...then his channel's aren't clipping, they're being limited. Simple really. True but then everything he does before he puts the limiters on is completely pointless, and what if he bounces/resamples without a limiter on at some point? It only works if he star...

Re: Assigning decay to hit velocity in Ableton Drum racks?
Hey, Just wondering if its possible to assign the decay with a drum rack to the velocity of the midi note on Ableton 8? Can't seem to find anything on it via google or here. I'm wanting the sound of a hi-hat sample to decay faster the shorter the velocity of the sample. Sampler, Filter/Global tab, ...

Do you have Variety of Sound's NastyDLA MK1?
I'm having to go back to some old mixes which used Variety of Sound's (Bootsy's) Nasty DLA MK1 but the only version I can find online is the newer MK2 version. Does anyone have the older version they could send me? If you don't know these plugins, check them out they are dope: http://varietyofsound....
