Re: tanmushimushi on discogs is no more?

It wasn't just the high prices of the records though, was it? How about the £13 p&p - within the UK for starters.

All those transactions at Discogs - he sells a 12" at £55. That gets added to the selling history. The next seller comes along ... maybe an inexperienced one.... he sees it sold for ...

Re: Sully debut LP

Just bought the album and .... yes... like Trypset said.... a load of horribly LOUD crackling right thru side 2. GAAAA!
Plus - right at the beginning of side 2 when the bass comes in there's a load of distortion esp. on the bass.
Guess I'll take it back tomorrow. Lucky i know the people in the shop ...

Re: Smith & Mighty 'B Line Fi Blow' Punch Drunk Unearthed 12"

B Line fi Blow is certainly the best track off the 2002 Smith & Mighty album 'Life is.... ' ... a triple (!) album that may have other highlights but I haven't dug it out for years (will now tho).
B Line fi Blow was also pressed as the b side of a promo 12" by !K7 at the time/ So the record company ...

Re: Free "Eek a Mouse- Ganja Smuggling" Remix

Nice 1. Sounds good. Ganja Smugglin is my favourite Eek a Mouse. I saw him live around..... um.... 1983 or 1984 or something. Incredible gig. He is a tall dude anyway - but when he came on stage he was like standing on a box or a plinth at the back of the stage... and he was wearing a black poncho ...

Re: Loud music affecting hearing

For over 30 years I went to tons of loud gigs and clubs (loudest gig - Swans @ the Zap Brighton in 86... they put their own pa system in the tiny arch... my trousers were blowing about I tell you... .they did structural damage to the club that night and my ears rang for 3 days)
anyway ... I never ...

I pre-ordered it off Bleep too. Nothing so far. Sent a couple of emails but no reply. Crap service. Dunno what else to do apart from trying for a paypal refund if nothing received in a day or 2.

a couple of favourites:
Anthony Braxton - In the Tradition vol. 1. Fantastic playing and arrangements... w/ echoes of the be-bop/ post- bop styles mixed with elements of 60s free jazz.

Albert Ayler - the Holy Ghost 10 cd set. You could listen to this forever and not get bored. Essential for fans ...

In the tower above the earth
There is a view that reaches far
Where we see the universe
I see the fire, I see the end

Seven miles above the earth,
There is Emmanuel of mothers
With his sword, with his robe
He comes dividing man from brothers

In the tower above the earth, we built it for ...
