V-Station VST isn't bad at making wobbles imo, got some good full sounding stuff out of it, with a lot of fiddling. Of course a patch along is not enough; often sounding weak. It's all in the layering ...

I have a Cakewalk SPS-25 something or other stashed in the wardrobe that i've never used.
I am using a Soundblaster 24bit (terrible, I know!).

Tell us whatchu think... I'm working to get that wobble sounding crispy, I may just change the sound altogether.

Been suffering with a bout of depression recently, and was wondering what effect that has had upon my production paths.
Couple i've been messing about with:

Layering is the key. Take your time and pick 2/3 samples. 1) get an 'organic' sounding one for low end (300hz) 2) snap at 1500hz 3) air at 6000hz eq to perfection. I try to avoid compression and work more on destructive eqing. bandpasses/filtered white noise at low amplitude is great for the air bit...

less is always better with drums.. much tighter and cleaner I find.
