Re: Production without headphones

Anyway, I wanted to ask, since I want to keep producing music when/if it gets better, and I don't want to go bac to using headphones, does anyone produce solely with monitors? most people do! you need to make sure your room is right, and you've got a reasonable pair of monitors, but it's perfectly ...

Production without headphones

Hey all. Recently I developed a condition called hyperacusis from listening to music too loudly and using headphones a lot. It basically means that every sound, especially those with high frequencies (like voices!) hurts my ears, even at normal and low volumes. It's fucking horrible - can't listen t...

I used to be well into postrock. Get 65Daysofstatic's first album, 'The Fall of Math' - it's got their best tunes on it, though is more inconsistent than their more recent efforts. Apart from them, the best postrock is Godspeed You! Black Emperor - get 'Lift your skinny fists like...' first. Mogwai ...

yeah, true enough - just thought this was a particularly good example, and also unexpected given that FSOL had little to do with drum n bass, the genre id regard dubstep as most derivative of.

Might be interesting to mix this into a dubstep set some time...

Future sound of london's lost dubstep

Has anyone else noticed that Antique Toy by Future Sound of London (released in '96 on Dead Cities) is basically a dubstep tune?! Sounds like dubstep mixed with early rave music. And considering their name - the future sound of london - did they know dubstep would come around nearly a decade later? ...

These tracks are all really well produced and have a great rhythmic drive. Would love a 320

Edit: Black out is maybe a little too long - could do with being tightened up a bit maybe. Just my opinion though.

This is great, would love a 320 if it's not too late.

Only thing I'd say is to add to those that have already said that maybe the kick overwhelms everything else a little.. but im listening on new monitors which I haven't figured out yet, so maybe that's it.

this is my first ever post so probably won't mean much to you, but I'm loving this song mate, tho i know what that guy means on the first page - it could do with a little edge, the pads are a little too... fluffy, or something. But still, you've got amazing feel for texturing your music, and the bea...
