Re: Dubstep in the key of?
You could low pass it for the sub AND high pass it for the 'air' with parallel filters. That's generally how I make my basses, don't see the point of separating them out if its not necessarySamuel_L_Damnson wrote:But then that's not a sub is it. That's just silly. I'd keel my root note separate IMO

Re: Dubstep in the key of?
I've now been working in B. Tbh frequency is only part of the sound, harmonics play a bit part. I don't make a separate sub, just one harmonic rich wave then filter it on the synth ui then EQ it after if necessary. The key isn't so important as the frequencies in the wave for heaviness imo I found ...

Sick, nice tune up. I actually think the effects of the arp/key thing at around 2:26 should be swtiched with the choir

I live in Japan so can't avoid it. Always unsweetened here though, they like the bitterness. Taiwan was sweetened de facto though it seems, luckily I can read enough sinographs to know what 'no sugar' looks like. If you want recommendations for Japanese stuff, look for 番茶 (bancha, standard grade) or...

Re: Particle - Rites of Passage [140/Tribal]
Nice! I love the droning and the crazy rhythms. Maybe some of the bubbly percussion or whatever it is and some other elements could move around a bit more with auto pan or something (I like to use two with slightly split EQ ranges so the treble moves a bit less but faster but it's after the lower fr...

Re: G.Don - Blood Shadowz (Teaser) [Deep/Dark]
Yeah sounds good, the vocal could be ethereal with deeper phasing and stuff (use a high minimum level). Snare sounds good, kick has a bit too much top to it imo, I love the shimmery cymbals though that's quite special. Bass/sub sounds a bit low, maybe cut some top end off and raise the level as a wh...

Yeah mid does sound empty but I really like it. Even an arp might do, rolling up and down chord progressions
