New choon: DJ 0045 and TDBZ - Tim-Ballin (limited available)

Got a new tune for you guys to check out. About 95% done with it, but it might need a couple edits here and there. Also, we are trying to get a vocal done for it, so it may change significantly before release. Let us know what you think. http://soundcloud.com/tdbz/0045_tdbz_timballin This is a fully...

Re: Been producing almost 5 months now; feeback please!

Also... sample! then sample some more... just keep sampling from everything for drum hits. Lie, Cheat, and Steal to get them. :6:

You'd be shocked how much difference it actually makes. Especially if you rip from tunes in the same key you are writing in.

Re: gain structure and mixing aka THE MONEYSHOT THREAD

BTW @ Macc... since I know you post in this thread... got any recommendations for an average starting level for vocals? I'm completely clueless, so it's always a guess for me, and it seems random whether I get them right or not. Any good ways to tell if they are loud enough?

Re: gain structure and mixing aka THE MONEYSHOT THREAD

Can't be arsed to read the whole thread to see if anyone has said this yet... but if you are using Cubase 6, you can now use the trims to lower your level on a channel before it hits any pluggins. This is nice, because you won't even get clipping within the pluggins under any circumstances. For thos...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@ BeastModeForDummies and yoitsfrankd : The snare is just some random Vengeance sample. No layering on it yet (but I plan on adding a snap layer over the top of it still). No problem sending it to you, if you want it, you've got it. As for the kick, I can't give it to you, but I'll give you a tip in...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@ kidstrange: like where you are going with this... needs to progress more, but I like the atmosphere of the tune so far. Nice sounds, drums are crisp and clean... good job :W: @ z6z: too chill for me to comment on this clip. But the drums sound good, and the atmospherics are nice. @ adover: needs b...

Re: Massive's Wavetables?

Hi there... here's a useful tip for adding that analog warmth to massive. 1) experiment with low level noise as an element to your sound. A lot of analog 'warmth' comes from noise. 2) put a very slow LFO on just about every parameter for very slight adjustment. E.g. +1 or +2 cents on tuning... a lig...

Re: Distorting your sub bass?

Man, I know I'm going to sound like a troll here, and no one is going to listen, but there is no reason why you would ever need to EQ a sine wave, or for that matter compress a synthesized sub (or at least... it would be very unlikely to be necessary). I got bashed for saying something along these l...

Let's talk about analog summing

Who's doing it, does it actually make a difference? Been thinking about getting set up to do that, but I'm trying to decide if it's worth the trouble. Thoughts? Advanced question: anyone using the dangerous 2-bus LT? Thoughts on that piece of kit? Pros... Supposedly makes everything sound a bit bett...
