Read the production bible, watch masterclasses (I recommend the Icicle and Kryptic Minds ones), listen to music, read up on things you don't understand about production... Just watched that kryptic minds masterclass, some pretty interesting EQing and a couple good tips but theyre so timid on camera...

summat i just wanted to add is what ive been doing lately to give the snares a kinda subtle cool effect, slap a simple delay on the snare and set the different delay times to really quite short and slightly different from eachother. think its known as heartbeat effect and u get a cool spacey feel to...

try somethinh new i guess, just mess around with different percussions/samples. put them in randome places/places where you wouldnt normaly put them. just explore really,

also youtube helps, can pretty much find anything on there. just search for it
