Great Old School Synth Tutorials
I was just watching these videos & I though you guys might find these helpful. They're pretty old (mid 80's I think) but it's great to see how relevant this information still is. The person in the video goes in to what synthesis is & how the different parts of it function. People who already...

Re: [NYC] 1/28 Reconstrvct ft. Jack Sparrow, Lurka, Joe Nice
Wow, I really need to get out to NYC again soon. I love the shows the BASSIC & SUBduction crews put on here in Boston, but I love the vibe I get when I go to one of the shows out there!

Re: Dubstep Doc
Well, to be fair I only posted the MALA vid because it was the only video I've taken there that I have online :) I personally have no problem with "brostep". It's still just called Dubstep to me. I like it just as much as any other style in the genre I've been exposed to. My only issue wit...

Re: Dubstep Doc
Hey, it Phoenix Landing!! I love going there on Elements DnB night. Anyways, right now It looks good, but there doesn't seem to be a much here other than just random people talking about why they're there. I would do as skitz_0 said and try making it to one of the BASSIC or even SUBduction nights an...

Re: Strangers (Deep Dark Dubstep Black Box Style)
This has an awesome drop. This song reminds me of the older pre-midrange style Dubstep I love. I still can't get a bassline to sound like this in my tracks. Good job!!

Re: Waka Flocka - No Hands (Lycan Remix) [Chill Dubstep]
I'm not sure if this is exactly Dubstep either. It sounds more like something that's between a minimal Baltimore or Juke style. The song does have a nice rhythm though. The only issue I can see is that it seems to go flat around the middle of the song (after first verse). It just seems to lose momen...

Busted Beats - The Incoming (Heavy)
What's Up! I've been producing mainly Hip-Hop for a long time now (mostly sample-based stuff). Lately I've gotten into producing Dubstep. I have to say that this is my first track that I feel confident enough to show random people. Please listen and let me know what you think about it. Any helpful f...

You should be good. Of all the times I've been there I've never seen them enforce a dress code unless their trying to promote a theme night and even then it's never been a requirement. So just go and have fun!!

Re: Harsh kicks?
I think it sounds nice. The issue I see is that it sounds more like a hip-hop track than a Dubstep one. To me it sounds like it's mixed for an mc to rap over rather than something that would stand on its own. I think with a different mixing strategy and a bit more variation or added elements should ...

Re: any of you guys ever mess around with the amen break
I've tried playing around with the original Amen break, but I could never make that sounded as what what the Jungle producers have been able to make with it! Even though it's been overused to death and back I still like tracks that make good use of the break.

Re: Purple Sound in fruity loops or massive ?
When I think of the purple sound, I think of the sounds the Sega Genesis/Megdrive used to make. The reason for was that the Genesis had a FM synth chip built into it & a lot of "purple" sounds are actually sounds you can make with a FM synth. I would try to get a hold of something like...

So, Has anyone played this recently?
I just got Bit Trip Fate last week (I think it was just released last week too) and I was actually surprised to see that they used Dubstep as the main soundtrack for this game. If you never played any of the Bit Trip games they are pretty much rhythm-based action games (at least that's the best way ...

Re: Boston Area Dubstep
I'm from around the area and can definitely feel the lack of Dubstep in and around Boston. After visiting NYC one day last year, the difference was almost like night & Day. Actually all forms of EDM and even Hip-Hop has always suffered in Boston. There was actually an article I read a few days a...

Can't say I understand why anyone would actually want to remix this song but I appreciate the effort!
Though I also like your remix too constrobuz.

El-P Bugging out!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y85543zESO8 I always thought El-P was weird rapper/producer but I didn't expect this. Supposedly it's really just ment to be a joke but it actually sounds pretty well produced. nice to see he's Still keeping busy after stepping down from Def Jux. On a side note though...
