Re: Definitely Starting to Understand Dubstep

Brilliant use of percussion. The bassy/mid sounds are good, but i swear at some points it sounds like they are overlapping giving it a clicky/poppy noise. The kick and snare are a bit weak. The kick is sounding quite high up but muffled and the snare is sounding quite low and muffled aswell. Im not ...

Re: Deep Dubstep

Great potential. I would personaly put a high cut on the kick drum i dont think it should have them high clicks in this kind of track. The snare could really use some reverb in my opinion, if you are going for that deep sound, as the snappyness of the snare is killing the ambient atmosphere. Some of...

Re: What am I missing?

Groove. Well. You are only using one high hat for a start. Try manipulating the high hat you are using, different reverb, some delays. Different high hat samples (electronic, acoustic, highs, lows, open, closed. Next, your kick is sounding a bit lazy, it doesnt relate to the groove of the bass and t...

Re: Budget Headphones!

Why i might go for the KRK KNS 8400, as opposed to Beyerdynamic DT770, Shure SRH 840, AKG K550 or AT M50. Beyer DT770 http://content.reviewed.com/products/2867/specs/5331/freq.gif This graph shows a very bright sounding top end with over exaggerated lows. This could result in some interesting soundi...

Re: mortal kombat samples and more

learn to use google and refine your searches to get the best results. this board in particular has been getting cluttered and going to shit as of late. or sample shit yourself like everyone else has already said. stop expecting others to do homework for you that you could easily do yourself, ffs. h...

Re: Budget Headphones!

I do hear that the akg's are great, however the krk's have been highly recommended, though they do have some violent frequencies and an airy sound. Also i hear that beyers are "fun" headphones with a fantastic bass response. Someone who has "owned" all these headphones is recomme...

Re: Essential Dubstep Albums (Vinyl)

Discogs and search for yourself. Look at artists you like and click on the labels they've release on. Its much more enjoyable finding albums by yourself than just being told a list. That goes for all music not just albums and this genre. If you don't have a record store near you.. randomly searchin...

Re: Budget Headphones!

Why would you buy closed back ones though? Get the open ones if it is just for production, they are meant to give a more true sound as to what speakers actually do.. and I 2nd Electric Head, got the beyerdynamic dt990 like many and don't think I've seen a single complaint about it.. comfy.. good so...

Go over to headfi and read the comparative reviews of the 3. Re: Budget Headphones!

Beats. I know people through these around like they are a joke but they are decent headphones. But srsly, I had these for a while and I wish I didnt sell them. MDR-ZX700 - Sony I've tried some beats, they aren't bad, but they sound over-driven in the bass frequencies and a bit tinny. The Sonys are ...

Budget Headphones!

So, looking in the 100-180 price bracket. So far came across these 2. If you own a pair, let me know what you think. Throw in a couple other suggestions, other than the Sennhieser HD25's, as i hear they are a piece of sh*t. If this debate has appeared before, throw me in the right direction. Thanks ...

Liked the horns ( ? ) on the intro...be interested to see where this goes, the tune sounded like it was just starting to develop when the clip finished :( Thats right.
