Re: Low CPU Amplifier modeller

Laptops about 3 years now, and wasnt top-range back then so yeah you're probably right. Still, competitively, those Plug-Ins seem to use up a lot more than my reverbs, distortions, delays and other utilities. Makes sense as Amplitube is almost a program in itself, so using it as an effect is always ...

Low CPU Amplifier modeller

Are there any?

Guitar Rig and Amplitube cripple my CPU usage, even just the one instance on a send. Shame, as its one of the most sonic pleasing subtle techniques to enhance a synth line.

Re: How To Make This Sound - January 2012

^^^yeah just an enveloped LP Saw with a bit of resonance. Having a good source waveform probably helps. OK, so I've been trying to replicate the tone of the synths Coki uses today but am coming up short. It's been covered a few times on here, and so far I think; -Subtractor -Metallic waveform FM'd w...

Re: Get Involved! (Phrases that need to die)

neurofunk. @topic: i still find the concept of someone claiming that someone else is 'hating' cringeworthy. it's a weird way of saying 'o shit i got criticised and have nothing to defend myself with' by somehow turning that into a positive thing. quite intriguing now that i think of it, it's like v...

Re: "F%*ing Modes SUCK!!!!" : A Guide To Modes & How To Use

In terms of application, I noticed in your original example you switched between modes depending on the chord. Is it common to stay in one mode, for instance, write a song entirely in Phrygian? And for that, when writing chord progressions, would the I chord correspond with the 3rd degree of the sca...

Who enjoys their career?

Because I'm approaching graduation, with a degree in Economics, with no fucking idea what to do. Keep getting shot down in interviews for corporate positions, with the growing realisation they aren't suited to me. Wtf does that leave? I just want a middling wage and a job that doesn't make me comple...

Re: Anyone else on anything atm? (Drug thread)

i think to a certain degree it was a good idea, sure its down to the individual, but because it has such a short high it just makes you want more, and if you've got a slight tendacy for addiction then you can find yourself on shit street fairly quickly. I agree after the initial high wears off the ...

Re: Anyone else on anything atm? (Drug thread)

To be honest with you I've been around mephedrone a lot (it's chronic in Blackpool where I'm originally from) and I think there's a lotta negative aspects of it. The tendency to binge is one of them, but largely I find it's a very ego-centric experience and makes people quite selfish. You ever been...

Re: Anyone else on anything atm? (Drug thread)

I never had any comedown off Mephedrone. I thought that was the appeal of it? Short lasting, little after-effects, cheap as fuck, high purity (Well when it was legal). Occasionally I'd feel spaced out the next day if I over did it. But generally felt it was a really easy, safe high, with the main s...

Uh, there are a fair few South Asian Grime MCs, I'm talking more about the accent rather than the ethnicity.

Re: Eskidance

The thing is though, the grime scene comes across as inarticulate and violent and if you are white then why talk like youre from jamaica. Plus its a joke so theres no need to get your knickers in a twist over it, blud. Most Grime has a London accent... a fair few London dialects have bits of patois...

Re: As a signed artist have made anything back?

What sort of living do well-known underground artists from the UK make? As in the type that a revered on here but the normal bloke in the street will never have heard of. Could you make a comfortable living off of record sales alone? I get the impression that 90% of earning come off the back of even...

Quick Music Theory Q - Vm?

Reading the Raven Spiral music theory pdf, one cited chord progression uses 'Vm' Does this simply imply flattening the third note in the chord? Regardless of whether it's in key or not? Or, if it's already a minor chord, do you just leave it how it's already transcribed? So for instance, the IV chor...
