get the best of both worlds and buy a Traktor Duo/Scratch kit. Vinyl wasn't a viable choice for me last year and that kit has been amazing. It also means I can spin my own shit for nothing like Lowpass said. that being said, i'm gonna be pur-chase-ing some decks this year as i've now kind of outgrow...

Here's some tips I picked up from working for Bose. They're militant in their speaker placement: Place your speakers in an equilateral triangle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equilateral_triangle) with you as the top point and place the two speakers as far away from each other as they are away from y...

Xiy's 'Optimus Grime' Radio Mix
Here's an old mix I did back in april I think it was on my Uni radio station as in a sort of introduction for the listeners to Dubstep, as not many people know about it round my way. This was after I'd been mixing for about a month or too and I was still using my Hercules RMX/Traktor and some of it ...

Windows 7 is a massive improvement over both XP and Vista. I advise anyone who uses Windows to upgrade to it. I tested it from early beta right up until it's release build and it's been solid the entire way. It's faster, much more secure, much less annoying (that UAC shit is like a beaten wife now),...

space designer is epic now in logic 9. try some of the warped spaces for your beats and basslines, it can completely change that pre-processed digital sound into something much darker, it's amazing. im using at the moment: ultrabeat (for drum programming, amazing!) surge (basslines and leads/fx) spa...

this is one reason why i fear actually releasing anything i make to people. a lot of my stuff is influenced by producers i like and play a lot on my sets, including burial of course. how can anyone expect to get recognition if they get accused of copying someone else's songs, when really it's just i...

i guess what i mean by clean is that you only see what you're using, unlike synths like surge where everything is just smashed together on one window. it distracts me too much, although i do love surge too. i'm yet to make any good weighty bass sounds on twin2 though, it doesn't seem to have the sam...

fabfilter twin 2 isn't here?
it's not got a massive selection of waveforms etc. and i've only scratched the surface with it, but the interface is stunningly easy to use and clean. so far it's given me so many good melodic sounds.
