i use vdub to create a wav file of the film's .avi/etc when i can't record stereo mix. very simple and free program (right?).

As for samples, the legal route would be to search google like everyone else. erm, dont be fooled into thinking using the ?intitle:index.of? wav thingy is legal! through using this technique, youre potentially downloading some stuff thats not really there to be shared.. same as using that technique...
