What to do for ableton live to prepare it for clean install
Hey guys, I have to do a fresh clean install for my OS X system and want to prepare ableton live and all my songs/samples to remain intact and ready to rock. I had a problem once before where after I reinstalled, I was missing samples from everywhere. Any way to be able to transfer ableton live, all...

Saving Ableton live instrument/patch?
I'm dragging over an instrument/midi channel from Ableton lives session view into the library on the left file browser window and it's not saving it with the send/return data. So in other words, saving patches through ableton isn't preserving the send/return amounts. When I drag an instrument rack w...

Massive Preset location
Ok this is really weird, before I reformatted my mac and reinstalled ableton and massive...legit copies btw, I had just a few presets. Well I downloaded a bunch of new ones and want to use them...I know that I can add them to the default massive preset directory path, ie documents/native instruments...

Re: how to upload your song to youtube?
Well I got a picture into iMovie and dragged an audio clip in as well but it only plays it for 4s, or I think up to 10s if I change some settings. How do I get it to just stay static picture for duration of song? thx people!

Re: how to upload your song to youtube?
I don't mind static picture...perhaps it'll be my album cover. I see so many artists doing this on youtube and it seems to work just fine having a static pic. Anyone know how this can be done? I just bought iMovie 11 in hopes it can do this.

Best way to output stems for collab using Ableton
Two issues I'm still having, one being with being able to transfer my song to a friend for collab using stems, and the other being a matter of using clips from one song in another without problems associated with corresponding send/returns effects. 1. I'd like to save my song projects in a manner th...

Adding a sub to my pair of RP6's
Anyone know if there is a way I can get a smaller or cheaper quality subwoofer that I can use instead of the $399 KRK Subwoofer? I have the RP6 monitors and would like to just add some of that low end bass to my mix.
Thx you lovely peepz!

Re: Your favourite : Sidechain compressor + settings
Ya I use ableton's built-in compressor. I don't understand quite what to side chain to what though. Traditionally you sidechain the bass line to kick drum, but I've noticed good effect doing this to a lot of sounds/synths as well. So I'm not sure if its ok to basically set up all main tracks of your...

Problem bouncing stems in ableton
Hey I have a problem, when bouncing/flattening a track, I use freeze/flatten but I notice that it doesn't record the track post send/return or master output. So basically I end up with a dry stem. Is there a quick workaround? I was thinking of collecting stems via the export function but I think tha...

Re: Massive Attack - Paradise Circus (zed deads remix
Any ideas, guyz? How to make bass in Massive Attack - Paradise Circus (zed dead remix) ???? I'm wondering if ya guys can give me any clues on where to attack this bass line. I've been using massive for awhile. Sounds like a reese style bass (detuned saws) being modulated a bit. I can hear phaser, wi...

Ableton live organization / library
Hey guys, I recently had to reinstall my OS and basically going to set up my organization for ableton live a bit differently and was wondering if you guys have any tips or advice! For instance, I can't decide whether I want to put most of my samples, presets, bass line riffs, one shots, songs, etc i...

Re: FM8 Skrillex Growl (TUTORIAL)
I must be doing something wrong...I'm new to FM8 and had don't understand the expert mode much so I downloaded the patch someone made. I noticed that I was not getting the same sound as the video shows. In the video you can see the pitch wheel modulating down but I dont get the same change in growly...
