That sounds awful but clipping can give you a bit of extra headroom with no impact on the sound. Just trim off some of the excess transient, almost surgical

I'm pretty sure that's the THINK break on there for the highs/tamb - note the pitched up vocal thing. But how would I turn my bog standard version of the break into that?

Thanks for all the help, the main problem I was having was marking the frets to the keyboard... such as a G# on the 12th fret and then trying to find that exact same note on my keyboard to play the same melody....But i have it sorted now...nice one peeps!!! :W: I think your problem is that there is...

Your mixes could be sounding empty because... they are fairly empty...? A lot of your sounds are basically raw 808 samples. Not a problem but they can sound a little hollow by themselves.
