The pitch of the 808 slides a bit. Is that all it is? I thought the 808bd was a sine changing pitch really quick or something. I think it ramps down an octave or two in the first few milliseconds (attack) part of the sound. I pretty sure it stays a constant pitch after the attack but please correct...

I use them on everything that is in the low end....( bass/ Kicks / Snares) As when you cut the bottom out of lower frequency sounds, it tends to boost the overall level.
